BikeRider opened in March 2016 on Triwn Ierarchwn 47 in Petralona, Athens, in a 180m² ground-floor unit that used to be a tile warehouse. The shop is co-owned by Christos Vergakis (born 1989, ex-U23 national road squad, retired from racing in 2014 after a collarbone that didn't heal right) and Nikos Demos (born 1976, master mechanic with 22 years at three of Athens' best workshops before he agreed to leave). The two met in 2012 when Christos brought a creaking bottom bracket into Nikos's shop in Glyfada; they argued about the diagnosis for forty minutes, fixed it together, and stayed in touch. Christos brought race-rider intensity and product knowledge; Nikos brought the workshop and the patience. They opened with €60,000 in savings and a personal loan, no investor.nnWhat makes BikeRide
